In WY on our return trip I was able to cruise at 85mph and the Traverse held at about 2k rpms. Temperatures on that trip ranged from 40 degrees to minus 15. The road noise is almost nonexistent and there are no little creaks or rattles what so ever. ![]() The AWD is amazing at keeping traction where it is needed. The vehicle is very solid and didn't budge during the high crosswinds which had blown tractor trailers off the road. Comfort wise the Traverse allowed me to put over 1,000 miles of driving on our first day without any lower back pain or leg pain. The distance was over 2,000 miles and we encountered white out conditions, 50 mph crosswinds in WY, and general winter conditions. This past December our family took a vacation from AR to MT during the big winter storm that came through before Christmas. ![]() All three seating areas have vents and there is second row and third row climate control which is a big plus during the summer months. The vehicle pacified a our 4 year old granddaughter, our 15 year old and our 25 year old. A week later my wife drove the Traverse from AR to FL with heat indexes over 110 degrees. We drove the vehicle from PA to our new home in AR without any issues. Watch for reduced prices on the 2017s as the new 2018s are getting a new body design. For active duty military you cannot beat Chevy's incentives. We bought ours during the 20% off sale, all said and done we walked out the door at $28K for a 42K vehicle. We were able to get into the 2LT trim line that has four captain's chairs and a third row all clad in soft leather. At the end of the day the Traverse made the cut due to its interior, cargo capacity (over … 100 cubic feet!), and entertainment features. We tested everything in class to include Honda Pilot, Volvo XC70, Subaru Outback, and the Toyota 4runner. We were in the market for a new family car and made our purchase in July 2016. PROS I liked the ride and the idea that the leg room in the second of seats can be adjusted to to accommodate passengers in all 3 rows.I feel like I can write a solid review since we have driven this vehicle in every climate and weather extreme. If you are driving at a normal speed and have to slow down, when you step back on the gas, many times, it will give you a good kick. HORRIBLE LOCATION.ī.- 11 The transmission is another problem. The next morning I started and everything was working fine, except for the rear AC unit, which still is out after three months.ĩ.- The Service Air Bags light came on, and after a couple of weeks it went out and has not come back on.ġ0.- There is a fuse box under the glove under the dashboard, on the passenger side that is nearly impossible to work at. That night I tried it and it started fine, but no AC. Called a tow truck and they tried to jump start it, which I had tried already to no avail, and nothing, so they towed to my home. I got in with my key and tried to open the door with the switch, but nothing work, like if the battery was dead. I stopped at a parking lot and when I came back the remote would not open the door. When I returned they told me and I found the light out, so I thought that I had a dead battery, but not, the problem had corrected itself.Ĩ.- A day after a heavy rain I went out in the Traverse and everything was normal. They did not have the key, so they left it like that. I do not know if the Chevrolet engineers have done the same.Ī)This vehicle has incredible electrical issues that come and go by themselves, some of which have been:ħ.- As I went on a trip my sons in law went by my house and found that the brake lights were on. I saw a new Buick equivalent to the Traverse, and the filter and plug have been relocated and they look good now. I now use a piece of plastic to act as a shield to avoid this mess. When you remove the plug oil will run all over the frame of the vehicle. This is HORRIBLE.Ħ.- The location of the oil drain plug and the oil filter itself are a royal pain for DIY's The filter is a kind of difficult to put back in. Impossible to do when you have luggage in it. BAD.ĥth in case of a flat you have to place the regular tire in the cargo area. Some times when shifting out … of 1st gear it kicks really bad, since brand new. Best highway 23 MPG.Ģnd the AC CIRC mode turns off every time you turn the key off, having to reset it every time you restart the car.ģrd the location and shape of the front roof columns obstruct your view of pedestrians and even some cars VERY DANGEROUS.Ĥth the shifting. ![]() 1st gas mileage., on busy streets, around 12 MPG.
